Thought I was being able to cope a little better with this tragedy as the days role by, but reading all the comments on here again today has brought the tears and the heavy heart back. Watching the footage of the funeral on Motogp.com was incredibly moving, especially seeing Vale, Capirex, Dovi, Lorenzo hugging Simo's dad and how cut up they all are.

I think Casey Stoner gives the impression of being an angry young man. The Australian is all smiles for the cameras and the public at large but underneath he seems pent up with frustration. He wouldn't be welcomed in my home***

Mentor, everything you just posted is complete b0llocks!
Stoner never puts on smiles for the cameras,he tells it straight and always has done. How long have you been watching Motogp.5 minutes!

How the fk can he be angry and frustrated?
He has just won the championship ffs!
I wish people would get their brains in gear before starting to type!

I'd speculate that for Stoner racing is a business, not a passion, in a similiar vein to Pete Samprass's approach to Tennis.

Coming from Aus there's no support network, and you'll never be popular so buying a seat with fistfulls of personal sponsor cash isn't an option. Casey's ONLY sitting on a Repsol Honda because he's an exceptional talent that can deliver the goods NOT because Honda or Repsol can use him to sell Cornflakes.

Casey's never had the year or two to settle-in to each class like some other riders have, he even got demoted back to the 125's at one point, that's a kick in the guts for any rider.

He's just very focussed and doesn't suffer fools, and Aussies will also tend to question their boss's integrity to their face so ocassionally saying what you think is an Aussie thing, not just a Stoner thing :-)
