@billace - Perhaps I should've made it clearer as I assumed everyone knew about the extra 3litres already in the CRT rules. Dorna is now talking about increasing the extra fuel allowance over and above that on an ad hoc basis to whatever level is necessary to make the CRT bikes at least competitive against the satellite bikes. They seem to be thinking along similar lines to the weight penalties for the twins in the WSBK series.

Extra fuel isn't without penalty either and diminishes in value due to the weight that the bike will carry to start, where that weight will be and the delta in weight over race distance as its burned. Efficient use of fuel is an advantage and the factories will get there sooner. The only way I see CRT teams being competitive is if a spec ECU is used with limited adjustability so there is no gap in available talent to set it up and that playing field is leveled. Even then the chassis and rider will amke the difference and factories will have the money to pay, they already assist satellite teams in payroll as it is and some even lack title sponsorship.

Billace - I take your point about more fuel carrying a weight penalty but with the non-CRT bikes having to make do with the same 21L as before the increase in capacity and with consumption already being a critical factor, extra fuel could succeed as a leveller. The whole point of the extra 3l was to prevent the CRT teams having to compete with the level of electronic sophistication the factories are forced to use. The factories always said they could only justify the cost of racing for the fuel saving R&D spin offs, so they should have no cause to complain if Dorna does give the CRT bikes enough fuel to run similar race times. We'll just have to wait and see, but Dorna seems intent on improving the spectacle and destroying the power of the MSMA which called for 800s and strict fuel limits in the first place.

Thanks to ALL the teams ALL The racers ............
I enjoyed seeing many examples of wonderful skills some great competition
unfortunate about the injuries to some of the leading riders........... Yet I suspect even if all riders had the same opportunities again then the results would remain very similar
Sad About Marco Super sic...... we will never know what his true potential was...... he certainly showed great possibilities yet now never to be
Thanks For a great race at valencia Guys It was a great Spectacle
I am looking forwards to all riders and factories efforts in the new 1000cc Era 2012 enjoy the skills every one stop bagging,Bitching and Whingeing and enjoy the racing Thanks for the memories

@Billace and @MM

thank you both.

an interesting topic. debated with composure and geniality.

I read of the extra fuel over the 3L and that espeleta (thats a lapel on a small coat right?) is also talking up weight assistance.

More still, he is talking about dropping financial support for Factory Satellite teams and giving it all to CRT.

I thought CRT would be a joke. I am not so sure now... but i simply cannot imagine it being good for R&D as you make and or invent something that aides power / efficiency and bang someone buys it from you and copies....

Huge Spies fan...but he was definitely NOT robbed! Ben was cleverly taking advantage of the situation (rain), but Stoner retook what was rightfully his. I have no ill feelings. Great race and great riding by everyone.
