Ivan Silva...that's the spanish rider from the whats-its-name spanish built gp bike that hasn't shown up on a grid in the two years since it was developed. hooray for them! looks like the CRT rules helped them to finally get on the grid in Moto GP.

@Ronni

"If dovi cannot beat cruthlow at the test then it was all honda power and not dovi skill. Be interesting to see if dovi can get top 3 on the yamaha!!"

Let's say you are correct Ronni. Does this mean that Stoner's, Pedrosa's, and Simoncelli's performances in 2011 were only down to "honda power"? And how do you explain it when one honda rider beats the other? How can this be down to "honda power" when they each have it? How do you reconcile this "honda power" 'advantage' with the apparent superior agility and handling of the Yamaha ridden by Lorenzo and Spies? Should that be ignored?

As far as the top 3 goes, you do understand that Dovi is now on a satellite Yamaha, not a factory Yamaha like that ridden by Spies, right? How do you expect him to be in front of the factory Hondas, the factory Yamaha or the factory Ducati, when he is on a satellite bike? It happens every now and then, but it doesn't happen consistentlty. Why would you th

Cont...

Why would you then expect him to do that when the top 8 bikes in the 2011 championship were all factory machines, and 4 of those 8 manufacturer bikes are participating in this test (I'm assuming Hayden has pulled out due to his wrist).

I think you are setting an arbitrary standard that Dovi can only fail to achieve. How about we give him a chance to get used to a machine he hasn't ridden before before we start judging him via an unachievable standard eh.

You could be right there Ammar.
I reckon he will. But seeing as the weather hasn't been ideal the last few days he may as well ride the 800 first. (Don't know what the weather's like today.)

Don't think it's sandbagging as much as not taking silly risks in changeable conditions on the first of 2 days.

Would love to see some proper riders on the CRT bikes.
Get well soon Colin.

@nutracker

"This session is pretty much meaningless, you could say about Valencia test as a whole."

I agree 100% with you in relation to this session. As to the Valencia test as a whole, if the weather remains crappy, you're right. However, last year the weather was good and it gave a pretty good indication of things to come.

On a slightly related point... I remember after the Valencia test last year, crash.net ran an article with an interview with Jorge. When asked who he thought was his biggest threat in the upcoming 2011 season. His response - "Stoner on the Honda". Didn't that cause a stir on this forum. People wer
