MotoGP » Rossi: Not bad for a first taste...

"The engine seems to be pretty good already... On the other hand, I'm a little slower in mid-corner, and we also have to try to improve rear grip " – Valentino Rossi.

Nothing to write home about...

What is interesting is the interview Preziosi gave where he spoke about pneumatic valves, narrowing the L to a V etc.

Not saying he would do this but it's nice to know they've got their head out of the sand and are working out what needs to be done to make the bike competitive...

Sound's like Valencia 2010 all over again, except without the shoulder..

Team and Rider all heaping praise on what they've just done and each other like some mutual admiration society. I just hope the Rossi fans learned their lesson from last year and save all their silly comments until the final lap of Qatar next year.

If Rossi (or any Ducati) can qualify on the front row with their current crop of riders and finish in the top three, then you can say they've made a better bike.

He sounds a lot happier with the bike. The front end corner entry problems sound like they might be gone but mid corner problems aren't.

Rossi I feel like you're letting your fans down and racing fans down. Please get that bike working so we can see so elbow to elbow racing at the front again.

I hope they can sort that bike out and if that's the 1000cc in the pic it must be an animal out the corners. Good luck next year Vale... you deserve it.

“We need some experience and more data to understand this bike and unfortunately some big problems remain. Today we arrived at one level then could not improve. I still don't feel very comfortable and we need to do another step.”

“Our problem is always in the centre of the corner after the entry. I don't have enough grip from the front to carry enough speed in the corner.

"This remains but we expected it would remain. Also we struggled very much in acceleration because with this amount of horsepower we spin too much. We have to do some modifications to the weight distribution and also electronics.

"This test is important to put the bike on the track and to understand the engine and everything else. Now we start the important work for next year and try to be ready for February."
