Why cant they just stick a WSB engine in the 800 chassis for now? Or do the 800s actually stand a chance against the 1000s if they are given extra fuel, engine life etc?

you can't really blame the kid, all you hope for as a professional sportsman is 'product and finacial' security, had Suzuki offered him both sooner he may have stayed, someone has to ride for Gresini Honda now that Marco won't be, God Bless, at he end of the day it is a professional sport, could be a very intersesting year in 2012!

It had to happen eventually. Suzuki has stuffed around and lost another talented rider. Sounds familiar to their WSBK team last year with Haslam. Can't blame Alvaro for jumping onto the Gresini as a Honda is always a decent ride. I hope the suzuki's do stick around as it will be nice to see a few rider changes and RDP already looks the goods on it. Let's hope they run 2 bikes though.

Very surprised to see this (or should I be???) Looks like he had a Honda deal done long ago but it was obviously his best option. There seem to be no shortage of Honda bikes...The sad issue here is not knowing where Suzuki stand, would I stick with them and offer my unreserved support or move to Honda...??? It was a tough call for Alvaro but I'm glad he has a job

The cost of 4 stroke prototype racing has come home to roost, just as predicted. If Suzuki had the money they would stay. Alvaro has done an amazing job as a one rider/developer team, but what is the payoff for Suzuki? They come off looking like a joke team despite the great work of Bautista. I hope he does well at Gresini.
