No,he won't have the same status as Simoncelli (i.e. HRC-contracted). According to Livio Suppo, the Evo parts will only go to Stoner and Pedrosa, then filter down later to LCR and Gresini. Neither will get the new 1000 until next year.

Its long overdue that he gets a bike to really show his talent, he's done wonders on that Suzuki the past two seasons. Its a shame they haven't committed to the series as you could tell he really wanted to stay there if possible. But the chance of a ride with Honda on a bike you know will be competitive was probably too appealing, all the best to him.

Read again.

I never said anyone ON a 1000cc is 2sec off the pace.
I'm saying Bautista on the 800cc is 2sec off the pace of the leading 1000cc.
That's actually not bad considering it's his first time on a Honda, and it's a satellite Honda at that that was WELL off the pace in the races weekend past.
