Honda seem a step behind the Yamaha and their customers bike hasn't ready yet due to Pedrosa injuries. Pedrosa and Stoner is working their ass off to get an effortless bike ready. So, their times is irrelevant to indicate the real performances of the 2012 Honda.

Ducato ? Very similar showing to last year, they have obviously loads to do to catch up still. Maybe Rossi should look out for a Honda contract .... as it looks like it might turn into a re-run of this season :(
And to all who say, but it's only the early developement bike ... well so are all the others.
Starting on the back foot again would probably wear the team down even more. A miracle is needed I think.

thx joe.

thats the first thing i wanted to know when i saw how close karel was to vale on the timesheets.

if karel had still been on his GP10, the **** really would have hit the fan here.

that must be quite the new adjustment for karel to go from gp10 to gp12.1 (skipping the gp11, gp11.1, gp11.2, & gp12 original twin spar)

"It is still early and been 1.6 off the pace with a brand new machine. It is not so bad after all.
But knowing Rossi if you have been following the MotoGP for more than one year. You will know that even if Rossi was faster he would not have given the right times."

@Bip Bip Run

It only takes one following MotoGP for a year to know that he was 1.6 seconds slow this time last year. It only takes one following MotoGP for the current year to know he's been about 1.5 sec and slower all year. It only takes one following MotoGP for a year to know people like you praise Rossi when he's fast and make excuses when he's slow like "it's only testing" or "he's sandbagging and not showing his hand". So just stop it. It is what it is - 1.6 sec slow. If you think he's sandbagging after getting blown away for a year then you haven't been watching for at least year.

The lap times are interesting. No surprises from Honda. Maybe Stoner held something back to give Dani a bit of glory in the home of the team's sponsor. Good to see the Tech 3 bikes up there and it was no surprise to see them ahead of the year's greatest failure, Rossi & Ducati. Interesting too that his lap time on a bike they have been developing all year (was it not an 800cc derivitive he was RACING most of the season?) was well off the 800cc lap record, set in 2008 with STEEL TUBE framed Ducati. That lap time: 1m 32.582s. Rossi's on the new 1000: 1m 33.332s. The Rossi-Ducati story is a real Italian soap-opera. It appears non of them have a damn clue...

What do you guys gain by criticizing Rossi in each and every thread? You guys seem surprised by the current testing results when Ducati made it clear before Phillip Island that they'll test a GP12 Prototype in Valencia and race a different bike in Qatar.

It seems it makes you guys feel better to get one over Rossi and his fans. Its getting boring.

I cry for Rossi... should I wait 2013 ?

"Neither rider had been chasing time, Pedrosa saying that feeling with the bike was more important than a fast lap time, while Stoner told the press that chasing a set up had not been the highest priority, as every time they had had a decent set up at Valencia, that had failed completely to transfer to any other track on the calendar, and provided very little useful information."

Honda still bike to beat, and Stoner-Honda combo still scarry....

Why can't people like you tell the difference between critizing Rossi and me critizing fanboys who post self serving junk? Is it because you are blinded by the word "Rossi" and that's all you see? The "oh, he's not showing his hand" excuse doesn't wash and it's not being said by Rossi or perpetrated by Rossi but a Crash poster. So how is that critizing Rossi by saying that excuse is junk?
