This is great news for Stefan for many reasons. Apart from riding in the most prestigious championship, he will have much less pressure on him as he's riding for a satellite team, plus he gets to avoid having to race Marquez for one year at least.

Madness!
Since the stars at the Valencia test already with the new 1000-cc engines were on the road, pulled Cecchinello the qualifying times of the Honda factory riders Pedrosa and Dovizioso from the World Cup finals produced for comparison. Impressive: Bradl drove slowly in the tests, only 0.3 seconds as the world championship bronze medalist Andrea Dovizioso in the official qualifying session. "It has happened many times that a MotoGP rookie has lost the first test, four seconds," Cecchinello were considered. "Besides, we are driven primarily by a standard set-up."

TOMCOL, you say you find it completely unbelievable that RdP has not been able to get top ride? I like Randy, but with all due respect, you only have to look at his stats to see why he has not been able to secure a top ride......

In 6 full seasons in moto gp he's only had 1 podium at a wet silverstone. In his best season he finished 9th overall. The others he finished 16th, 11th, 15th, 11th, and 16th. In his 103 races, he's had 29 DNF's! 29! He DNF'd once in every 3 races.

Some would find it 'completely unbelievable' that he has managed to stay in moto gp for a whole 6 years with stats like that, so its not really that difficult to see why teams and manufacturers are not queuing up to sign him.

Valid points. You can add to that the fact that Randy crashed 13 times last season, including 6 times in races (one of those not being his fault). Neither did a 16th place finish in the championship do him any favours when Barbera bagged 11th and 33 more points on essentially the same bike. Teams do take these things into consideration.
