Apart from Stoner.

My vote goes to Bautista he rode this **** off on the Suzuki although it end up with his **** on the floor most of the time but still my rider of the year.

Simo would be a contender but after his death it does'nt seem right for him to even be on this list.

Bautista didnt ride squat, he crashed out of 1/3 of the races, and only turned it up after Silverstone. He finished 6 points in front of a guy who had zero confidence on his bike, please.
Suzuki really had a good thing going, its a shame they pulled out, we will see next year if Bautista can finish in the top 10.

Lets be honest guys, anyone who gave Casey less than 10 is either:-

1,A rabid Casey hater
or
2,Watched a different world championship to the one i watched!

He ran rings around the rest of the grid.Whether you love him or loathe him, there is no getting away from the fact that he has destroyed the field this year.
Biggest disappointments this year for me were Val and Toni.No need to explain why,it has been agonisingly documented.

I would be a coward if I didn't say that Casey was the standout here. But for me, I am going with Spies for finally giving us an option to the "aliens" (I just threw up a little in mouth while typing that)for race wins! Winning in Assen and nearly doing it again at Valencia was a great way to salvage an otherwise garbage year. I look forward to a Healthy Spies (et all) next season.

To all the people saying it can only be #27, take the blinkers off! He may have won the championship but he did it on what was by far the best bike so others actually performed better in the circumstances. The question was not who was the most successful rider of the year.

Man, I get so sick of *****ic comments like those of Realfan.
If it hadn't escaped his attention, Pedrosa and Dovizioso were also riding factory Hondas and they didn't win the championship, and Lorenzo on his Yamaha was snapping at Stoner's heels hoping he would make a mistake and gift it to him.
Stoner has put up with this kind of crap for years - that it is the bike that makes him win races, not his talent. If he had such a wonderful bike in the Ducati, how is it that Rossi can't win on it when Stoner often did?
Bikes don't make a rider Rider of the Year, the rider does. Now go away, will you and all of you who are like him?

@ writeman
Just in case you missed the championship results there were 3 repsol Honda's in the top 4, I think that maybe points to something. As for dovi (mr consistent ) and pedrosa ( mr fragile) they were never going to challenge for title but it does show how good the bike is.
