I know this has been said before, but there is NO WAY that any top car racer could accomplish this feat that Rossi did on a motorcycle. I would never say that car racing is simple (the heel/toe throttle brake alone would be a major challenge to perfect), but it's nothing like the skill set required for racing a bike, on asphalt or on dirt. Way to go Rossi!

TLRJohnny, oh of course i agree. And any biker will agree with you on that one, whether they have raced, do track days, or just own a bike for a steady road ride. The only people who will disagree are people who have never sat on a bike before. Of course im not saying car racers are not talented, or course they are and are at the top of their game, but motorcycle racing is in a league of its own in terms of skill, balls and mindset. What these guys do on 2 wheels is simply astonishing!

The guy is a real all round talent, Bit like Colin McRae was.

Having ridden many miles on the back roads of the west coast of scotland I can honestly say it's far harder to ride quickly on a bike, driven the same roads in a variety of quick 4WD cars and it's far easier to keep the same pace in the car...no as much fun though :)

Your actually quite wrong. It is relativelyeasy to drive a car and road race. What is hard is Tials riding. It takes years to too learn.
Look at these red bul rookies, at 13 years old they are good enough to enter grand prix and two years later can be winning.
You can tell straight off if any bike racer is going to be great, cause they flipping well beat everyone first time out!!
Rossi is an exceptional racer, though what ever you put him on, ir would seem.
