Sincerest condolences to Charlie's family & friends. He might not have been in the limelight by riding a MotoGP Machine, but his contributions no doubt helped out with Rizla's recent form. RIP.

Thank you Crash for posting this. It is important to remember those that make the paddock tick behind the scenes and Charlie was definitely one of those key people. One of the very best. We were lucky to have known him.

Patrick Head and Frank Dernie were among the F1 attendees at Charlie's Memorial. That series perhaps not as heavily represented as MotoGP, but the level of those and other attendees in terms of hierarchy spoke volumes for the high regard everybody held a great man in. RIP Charlie

R.I.P Charlie Moody

This is a clip of Ayrton Sennas first test in a Williams Grand Prix car in 1983, at 0.56 seconds we see Charlie strapping Ayrton into the car before he heads out on track for his very first laps in a Formula 1 car.

I have only just found out about the passing of Charlie Moody. I was lucky to have worked with him in the F1 days, on the test team and race team at Leyton House Racing, he was a top man on and off the track. I bumped into him in the Brands BSB paddock in 2010 where i was working and he was there with the Suzuki Moto GP team where they were doing demo laps, we chatted and then we met up in the evening for a chat and a drink and spent the evening laughing and remembering some old stories on our travels in the F1 days. That was the first and the last time i had seen him in 20yrs. RIP Charlie, you will be missed and my condolences to his wife and his two boys. Martyn Phillips (The Sword)

I stumbled across the news that Charlie Moody has passed away and was saddened to hear of it. I was privalaged to work with him at Leyton House on the Test Team, he was an absolute ledgend and I owe him a lot. He was one of the best guys you could wish to know, a great guy to work for and a great guy in general. He always used to tell me to let people know I was there, he certainly did, he will always be remembered, a sad loss to the world of motorsport. Gene Pinnell (The Rook)
