The sad fact is that since it went 4 stroke the costs have spiralled out of control. It all went "F1" and became as much about machine as man. The true beauty of motorcycle racing is that it has always been more about the man than the machine.
The factories simply cannot afford to race as it costs too much.
Bring back 500s!!!

stop the madness!

why's there still a thing called MotoGP (Moto2 & moto3)?? They're changing the series into a production based class so there's no reason to keep it. WSBK should become the main motorcycling series if you ask me, lower costs, 2 races on a day and way more exciting!!!

For the Purist, 500cc Grand Prix 2 strokes were the stuff of legends. They had their time though. WSB was gaining serious viewership numbers in the 90's, why ? Coz they raced (1) Production Bikes you could buy &(2) 4 Strokes. Dorna claimed at the time that 500cc's reached their development peak. Bulldust. They lost their appeal, more and more fans were watching SBK.

The next 2-3 years are going to be interesting for Motogp. People had the same doubts in 2001 when the switch to 4 strokes was officially announced and look how that turned out.

In the end, Grand Prix racing will weather the storm it currently finds itself in and be better off because of it.

I like the CRT's bikes, it's an smart idea to reduce the costs and improve the battle. If all the factory and satelite bikes are CRT, we can see the best pilots winning races, not the best bikes...

I know I don't have the answer on how to fix the series,so hopefully Dorna's idea's will work...What I do know is that the fans want great racing between the riders deciding the outcome of the race, and not the dominant machine that they are riding. So if the factories want to control racing, then they need to fork out mega bucks to 25+ teams and make it even for the riders and teams....Or hell put them all on bike's that come off the showroom floor and may the best rider win!!!!!!BATTLE ON 2012........

I think Ezpeleta should man up, apologize to Peter Clifford, beg him to bring his R1 based bikes back and foot the bill for an entire year to make ammends for what they did to him back then.
