Bautista's promising season raised some questions for me that won't be answered until next year. At times he was fast and he could have been over riding a Suzuki that was almost fast enough, hence the excessive number of crashes. The problem is that with only one blue bike there was no other rider to compare with and no way of determining how close the Suzuki really was (Hopkins efforts were too brief).
In any case, an outstanding and brave comeback from a broken femur and hopefully will be rider that shows more next year.

Today is Christmas day and my biggest problem is which bottle should I get stuck into first a bottle of 10 year old Jamison's or a bottle of malt Bushmill's.
Anyway Crash Merry Christmas to you and all your readers even the insanely one eyed.

I like Bautista but IMO he's a bit overated here. I think the Suzuki may have been a better package than the Ducati, Nicky should have been rated higher in this case. I bet Casey would have won races on the Suzuki but It's hard to tell for sure. Merry Christmas to Crash and all it's forum junkies!

I think the suzuki was one of the fastest bikes out there and he only finished 13th in the championship, im sure hopkins had a wildcard ride at brno and immediately went 2 tenths quicker than bautista.

i think this could have bin the year for suzuki i never was impresed with bautista even in the 250cc clas he was reckles and crashd several times i think if team gxxr had a rider with consistency like dovy ore hayden ore so they whould have easly had a top six in the championship its a odd way of thinking but if they whould have had a rider like that this year they whould not have left the chamionship.

If the Suzuki was auch the bike some claim it to be (a winner in Stoner's jhands, yeah right) I doubt they would be so foolish to fold the project now. Yeah, this year the Suzuki showed more promised than last year and the 1000s are a totally new ball game, but Bautista was the one that showed flashes of brilliance and Hopkins (I like the guy, mind), in spite of his best efforts, never made through qualifying!
