As a die hard racing fan, i feel sick to read Jorge's comment "The Honda RC212V was a better bike than the Yamaha" on GpOne.com and made him sound like he didn't admit that it was Casey who made the difference. Honda has always been fast. without Casey Honda riders will finish once again behind yamaha. Dovi is again in his zone this year like he was last year: getting close to the aliens. he got the third is probably thanks to vale who was struggling. just like his number he will always be number 4 rider despite his achievement. don't get me wrong, he's such a nice person. but he lacks of aggressiveness to challenge for wins. he's too polite as a rider.

Disappointed in his 6th place here.Dovi put in some superb performances this season and i voted him 3rd behind Lorenzo and Stoner.Hope he does well at Yamaha next year.

I thought Dovi was the most consistant rider behind Stoner and im not a fan of stoner but he was by far the fastest rider this past season,thought he would have placed 4th in the poll.Hope Yamaha gives him some factory support at tech 3,He deserves it for sure!

Lightspeed depends on whether your right and Jorge is wrong. Blind Freddy could see the Honda was a rocketship this season. Yes Stoner was the best rider this season but the Honda is what delivered him the championship. If the roles were reversed and Stoner was on the Yam and Jorge was on the Honda this year teh gap would have been closer but you would have seen Jorge Honda WC. It was pretty clear to see that Jorge was absolutely flogging that Yam and to no avail he and Spies got swamped even on short straights to the Factory Repsols particularly. A $900K gearbox put in the bikes which provided no advantage yeah sure.

@Ausrossi

Ummmm Yessss....you really hit the nail on the head regarding Dovi's 6th place finish in the pole. Good to see we're on topic!

I will say that I'm a bit confused with Dovi only coming in at 6th. I put him a couple above that. No, he wasn't as good 2 or 3 other riders but I think he was definitely better in the top 5!

@8 yes you are confused as you obviously couldn't see it was a reply to lightdpeeds comment even when I gave a clue by starting the post with his nomenclature.

And Sean as has been demonstrated this season and every season in which Dani has competed his Alien status came through wins but even when uninjured he has never been a wc contender even having been on Honda throughout. So against this backdrop an obviously talented Stoner is going to standout just as jorge or Rossi would in the same situation but to say despite many professional commentaries to the contrary that the 2011 Honda was not a major contributing factor is fallacious
