You know, a lot of people can't leave that hard rivalry behind, even after the tragedy. This just shows what a great person Andrea is. So touching.

We all miss you Marco

Guy's, Marco did upset a lot of people on track with his wild riding, even in the 250's. But seriously when you see a colleague lose his life doing what he loves in a freak accident, any bad feelings are gone. I think Andrea has shown some compassion and it is a really nice gesture, indicating Sic will never be forgotten. Similarly Jorge Lorenzo put aside differences for the funeral, another good move. Dont make it out to be something its not.. there is no hate involved.

They were always needling each other so it's quite appropriate I suppose! Geddit? Seriously, the fact there was bad feeling between them must make it hard for Dovizioso now. They had fought each other for years, since childhood, and their relationship was like that of Rainey and Schwantz. But they weren't able to eventually become friends as the Americans did. So if having this tattoo and telling people about it helps Dovi come to terms with the death of his rival, why not? I'm sure he is not PR motivated in this.

@ Crashtestdummy - that's a bit harsh?

I agree, Dovizioso wasn't always complimentary about Simoncelli. However, I wouldn't suggest he was being hypocritical at all. As a racer he had one opinion, clearly as a human, Dovi has been affected and is allowed to remourse like anyone else.

I see my original post has been removed. My point really was that if in life you can't say something good about another human being, it really is to late once they're gone. I think what Sics death has shown all the riders is the razors edge they all ride on and that one minute we're here the next we are not. They might actually show each other a lot more respect as people rather than as racers........
