MotoGP » Stoner hoping for competitive Ducati in 2012

The Australian feels it will be a substantial boost for MotoGP if Ducati prove capable of challenging Honda and Yamaha for victories in 2012.

Stoner is talking sense.
He knows he's the overwhelming title favourite (and rightly so), a poor performing grid will not reflect well on his likely dominance.

Fans will slate MotoGP (and Stoner for having it too easy), devaluing the spectacle and promoting the 'machine not man' aspect of racing.

Although racers will take any victory with gratitude (fatalities not withstanding), most would like to be crowned the well earned victor from a epic on track battle.

This is good for a riders 'hard as nails' reputation and the spectacle itself.

Factory bikes are getting thin on the ground. Stoner is right to say this (with great confidence of course!).

As a Vale fan, I acknowledge that his GOAT status is in question after last year. I too am hoping he will take it to the Hondas and the Yams.

Make no mistake, Lorenzo will be a highly formidable force to be reckoned with as well.

I agree with Stoners comments.
We all need a competitive pack. Rossi will be closer this year as they wool have refined the Ducati to his taste and even if it's still not the cutting edge tool he doesn't need to beat a Gresini bike or another Repsol Honda.

Stoner has previously stated his preference for GP bikes, pure racing machines like 2stroke 125s and 250s.

A strong Ducati makes extra prototypes and a strong championship and staves off a complete CRT takeover.

Typically disengenuous of Stoner even if his statements are correct. Safe in the knowledge that he is superior to his team mate and that the Honda is the bike to have and that Jorge no matter how good he is can't make up the deficit.

what stoner says is pretty much what we have all been saying ourself on these threads for months.
i wrote a comment on one of these threads last week about crt that is almost identical to what stoner had to say , and we have all been hoping ducatti get it together this year.
anyone who disagrees with stoners comment in this article is disagreeing simply because they can and probably only because they dislike him.

@ausrossi,Casey could say how much he admired Vale and you would still pick fault with it cos you are a hater, not only is he superior to his team mate but on most days is much better than the rest of the field, just sit back and admire a true craftsman at the top of his game
