The Australian feels it will be a substantial boost for MotoGP if Ducati prove capable of challenging Honda and Yamaha for victories in 2012.

Fans of close racing must like Spec series racing.

Much like sail boat races that include only Laser boats or maybe the old Formula V racing or America Cup racing that excludes catamarans.

In fact that last one makes my point about what racing is all about. No catamaran boats vs monohulls, for decades made for a dull, dull, dull race series. That's what spec racing givcs you. Dull.

re: "casey is right those CRT just increase the number those doesnt increase the level of racing"

wait, it does increase one thing... and that's the odds of another racer getting killed. body count is now at 3.

There's too much fuss being generated over the CRTs.

If each of the Riders listed on the 2012 rooster actually had a factory ride, do you really believe they all would be contending for race wins each at each venue?

So the only difference between Stoner and Hernandez or Silva or pick a name is a factory bike?

If only Hernandez had a factory ride he would displace Stoner or Jorge?

C'mon.

re: "if CRT is the right way to go, but with gigantic bike manufacturers pulling out because they can't afford to compete something has to be done."

yup, but that "something" has been (and always will be) for us to support those manufacturers (and sponsors) by buying their product. more specifically buying WITHOUT begrudging them a profit. we've failed in this responsibility. the CRT model in no way addresses this core problem. to use a construction analogy, "any building raised upon a faulty foundation will inevitably fail". it's not if, but when. "when" for CRT is 3, maybe 4 seasons...?

why would anyone question the "value" of his championship if ducati(rossi) is not up there racing. are people forgetting jorge, dani, dovi(maybe)??

@Turkey for Christmas Mate I have a little exercise for you have a look at Catalunya 2007 you might have to look at twice just to let it sink in then come back on here and let us know how the wee laddie went against the super ego. In ref. to stoner and lorenza when the battle is on there is no quarter asked or given but when it is over they shake hands thats called RESPECT something your hero never showed his whole career, by reading your comments i dont think you were ever involved in any sport but i think your call sign is pretty spot on "Turkey" sums it up really

Stoner is good, very good but, as far as selling himself.

If he had to make money, based on his high profile, compared to the other famous ones , he would starve.

And i know what you are going to say.. He he there to ride ... And we know that, but...

Agree 100 procent with Stoner.

2007 was his first WC which was special to him but last year perhaps was a little boring for him.

The new riders with the exception of Bradl are a joke.

What we want is excitement at the front not more bikes. However if we have to go through another year of boredom to get there with the CRT bikes then so be it.
