cont ...hence the many veriations on the stressedmember theme throughout 2011.... So for me rossi maybe no longer be top dog , but hes still not to be underestimated for 2012 and i actually do consider the point that rossis 2011 performance could be the best thing to happen to ducati in years ,in terms of consigning a flawed concept to the archives and giving ducati a chassey that can rival(when perfected) their peers.....

a previous poster the reason why the straight fights never materialized is because the ducati was impossible to change lines with the way you are referring to but he has beaten him in a big bust-up in Qatar 07, catalunya 07, Shanghai 07, then since Rossi switched to ducati they have only had the incident at Jerez, Rossi battles with Cal Crutchlow Alvaro Bautista and Randy DePuniet now. Not Stoner Pedrosa or Lorenzo.Next you will say those races were so long ago and then I will say so was Laguna Seca 08. If this was 2001-2005 or 2008-2009 then yes Rossi was dominant. He just isn't so dominant on equal machinery and tires. he should change his number to 80 instead of 46 (80 seconds, 80% rider 20% bike)he seems to like that number. Racing is boring when Rossi doesn't win.NOT!Not if you are a real fan of the sport.

"The game has moved on Vale my ols son,and you can no longer intimidate the young guns"......mick.

I think you have hit it spot on there mick. For years Rossi has messed with riders heads in order to get any kind of advantage over them, but Stoner is having none of it now.He is no longer intimidated by Rossi and is more than prepared to stand up to him and give him some of his own medicine. In fact i think the roles have now reversed.Rossi feels intimidated by Stoner.

Casey is obviously talented, but there is no denying that this past year, it was the Hondas, and then everyone else.

Everyone was amazed when Lorenzo could mix it with them and actually take podiums, points, and wins off them. So Casey can't say that he didn't have the superior package this year.

Yes, he beat his teammates, but his teammates were consistently monompolizing the top 5 positions, between Dovi, Pedrosa and Sic.

In Rossi's defense he didnt look at all at home on that bike. There was a few laps at Phillip Island where he looked like a contender again, but then he found out about the front end of the biggest weakness, prohibiting Vale's greatest strength. Until Ducati fix the front end from folding like origami paper, Vale will continue to struggle.

Rossi's best year was probably 2003. But the true mark of a champion is being able to keep on it year after year, and hes done as much, so lots of credit to Rossi, despite what ever he was doing behind the scenes.

if it was me in stoner's place i would have said- i never got anything like rc212v 2.0 or 3.1 from honda. so i don't think honda had a huge budget nor was i paid 15mil euros. xD
@Mclarenp it's true stoner doesn't care what any1 says about him. they asked him and he replied accordingly.

Well done crash this string will be going full bore unto the 31st when the facts will become know.
I know that when Casey and JLo do well it will be said by certain fans oh it's only a practice, however if a certain someone goes really well it will be cause for great jubilation.
Not long to wait and time will tell.

lol rossi saying honda had a big budget is a bit hilarious given all the updates and his paycheck. also rossi's crew chief went all by himself to discuss with gabbarini to try to sort out the duc. says something about stoner's team. so it's not entirely honda's machine
