1 second covering the top seven thats really good to see it would have been eight if stoner was there great job by cal really good job by the yamaha test rider very impressive and really good job by valentino 2 seconds a lap faster than fp1 at sepang last year the track will have to rubber in a bit more to see what the overall picture is but im hoping that three manufacturers will be going for the top spot.

Good to see Cal up there!

We have to remember this is testing and not racing so nothing will be set yet, i am sure we all want close racing to keep us on the edge of the seats.

0.75 is not bad, first time on completely new bike with no data behind... However, like usual, I expect in next days that Ducati will little improve times, while HON and YAM will going better rapidly.

Was that really the yamaha test rider's times or same as last year was that Ben or Jorge taking out the other bike to evaluate some new parts/ different setup?

Good time by Rossi, but last year he kept the gap @ 0.8s too, so it's not a really big deal. We'll have to see tomorrow and after if he can lower this gap, the thing is to improve the pace faster than the others. I'm really afraid of that, if this gap increases instead of decreases we'll see more of the same.

I dont care what anyone says but 0.7 of a second on a new bike straight out of the box is ten times more optimistic for me as a Rossi fan, then 1.5 this time last year.
If by the end of day 3 this is still the same or better I'll not be losing sleep before the next test - I will though if it increases closer to the 1.5 !

there's a lot of nonsense being talked about on here...i'm a rossi fan but really we want to see what speed stoner is out of the box...initial impressions are for a totally completely brand fire new out of the box bike i am pleased and impressed with the ducati...i expected it to be a little more behind...the yams all look good out of the box but then i expected that..jorge for all the rubbish talked on here is a seriously good's time's make me think straight away that the new bikes will be better for the ex-superbike boys in their handling characteristics...that bodes very very well for the season and indeed the future...
however i know i am going back on everything i said but seriously the crt teams worry me...tom sykes has just done a time within 0.7 secs of the moto gp boys in spain so what the hell have the crt teams actually been building???

But don't forget Rossi was injured at the test last year so part of that 1.5 was down to that. He needs to close the gap by end of day 3, thats when we'll know how good the bike is.

surely Ducati will keep regret when the day they let Casey go to Honda. They keep put big money to changed the bike but the result still far from 2007 to 2010. Hope they will not end up like Suzuki
