I think Hayden deserves a bit more credit for 06 title than saying that Rossi's reliability issues were the reason Hayden won that year! Remember Pedrosa-estroil??

herowassenna,

You should at least give some consideration to the other facts from those periods.

2006 - Rossi suffered engine failures unlike other Yamahas. The overrev button they gave him to allow him to exceed rev limit when trying to overtake was the significant difference in his machine.
Rossi was leading the championship in the final round and crashed when under real pressure for the first time in his career. The rocket start and brush from Nicky may have rattled him.
Nicky also spent the entire season testing parts for the 212, getting new parts to try nearly every week.

2007 - Blame the bike or tires but no other Duc's were close and Michelin's were the tire used by the rest of the top finishers. Again, Rossi had to push harder then before but came up short.

2009 - You can't bring up Rossi's injury and forget Jorge's. Jorge missed the first test and was hampered by injuries through the start of the season. His comeback through the field at Qatar was impressive conside

...His comeback through the field at Qatar was impressive considering his lack of testing and inability to test at race speed to find a setup, especially since his teammate blocked data sharing at that time.

Bottom line is the best rider/package won every year. Some years were easier than others and some went down to the wire.

Wow, **** Wad, untwist those knickers!!

In 2010, Honda were testing parts throughout the season for 2011. Casey Moaner didnt make any comment.
Yet, when in 2011, Ducati used test sessions developing parts for 2012, he spoke out about how it contravened the rules.
Casey and Rossi ddin't sit on their respective bikes till November, yet those bikes had been desgined and built before they joined their teams. Built and designed by designer and factory engineers without any rider input for the following season. Only what the previous seasons riders had guided the team.
So NO, Moaner doesnt develop a bike, he merely rides them.
Rossi has the team building parts for the bike because they trust his evaluation. But get one thing straight, no top level sports team can turn a lemon in peach.

So lets get this staight. The Ducati is still the WORST bike of all (1.Yamaha 2. Honda 3. Ducati)

Yet Stoner / Lorenzo have nothing to do with bike developmen and Rossi is a development God for advicing Ducati to make the worst bike. A rather twister logic, Id say...

Of course Rossi builds the bike, relatively simple for a man who invented the crossplane crank and writes all the algorithms for the traction control. . He wasn't suffering from a sore shoulder last year, but burnt fingers where he changed the plugs at the side of the track. Don't think Burgess isn't involved either, he digs the ore out of the ground and weaves all the carbon fibre himself. As for the suspension it's just an ohlins badged Rossi design
