"I'm actually happy that I tried to ride at Malaysia, because it helped me to discover that the problem with the shoulder was bigger than we thought" - Nicky Hayden.

This definitely marks the end of his GP career. I can see him making an average recovery, barely being ready to compete by the time the season opens. He will finish outside of the top 5-7 every single race, and at the end of the season when his contract is up, he will quietly vanish from grand prix racing. Nicky will most likely go back to racing in the Nascar owned AMA, and post decent results until he retires in another 5 years. It's sad to see, but he should have never left Honda.

Nicky will have a shoulder issue which no one will believe even when a noted surgeon comes out publicly stated that there was serious damage and wondered how he could compete all season long, but still people won't believe him and state that his team mate beat him fair and square even though he was out for four rounds and did it after the second race having won the first and finishes third despite that and a broken leg. As opposed to having a dietary complain backed up by press statement.

All seems strangely familiar.
