"It's logical and obvious that we'll suffer in the first few races, but the idea and the goal must be to get better in every GP" - Aleix Espargaro.

I would think Aprilia has the edge against other CRTs at this point. I would think the Aprilia bike (if based heavily on the WSBK bike like reported) will be a bit more mechanically sorted the the other CRTs. I would think at this stage the other CRT teams a still figuring out geometry, suspension settings, weight distribution, etc. - let alone getting the electronics sorted.

Moto2 because of empathy between the Espargaro brothers or the supposed one involving CRT bikes and the 600 M2 bikes rather than GP league where they officially belong ?:p

If I were to make a prediction I would say that the Aprilia will be the first to be “investigated” for being a backdoor factory effort. They are obviously funneling a lot of money at this project. So what will be the Litmus Test for Factory squads?

Thanks to RawDawg for his always penetrating technical insights. Aleix has had more chances than most but has not shown consistency nor ability to make it to the very rarefied precincts of what is now limited to 2 or maybe 3 individuals. Still, like Colin E. said many years ago, it's way better than 9 to 5.

Espargaro and RDP are both decent riders and i think once they start getting electronics sorted they should have deccent pace... but i still think Edwards is going to be the first CRT rider to surprise people and beat the ducatis, he has shown that he is cutting times and we have all heard about what an asset he is for development... i think buy Qatar he will be on pace with most of the field... maybe not the hondas and yamahas but definatly satellite ducatis and maybe the factory boys too if they dont get things sorted out
