Stoner, Lorenzo? Pretty safe to bet they will be ahead of the rest of the pack. Dani? Could be a contender if, and it's a big if, he can stay injury free. I'm expecting Ben to up his game this season, the bigger bike should work in his favor. Rossi? I'm hoping he will be in the mix this season but too early to say if the Ducati will be up to par soon enough.

1st post thumbs down reason.

Lorenzo to win this year.
Not a fan but he is a better racer than stoner, maybe not a faster outright rider but stronger in a battle. If you look at the times from the 1st test casey maybe had the outright fastest lap but jlo had more consistently quick laps than him and 1 quick lap may get you on pole but it doesn't win the race.
Other riders may challenge in the odd race but I think it will be these two who are fighting for the title.

Lorenzo will be beaten by Spies this year.
By the middle of the season Bautista will be beating both Pedrosa and Stoner. He is on a better bike now.
Valentino Rossi will be champion, not because he is faster, but because he is more consistent with the new ducati.
Don't agree??? Well let's have a look at a hopefully fantastic 2012 season.

the most obvious contendes...stoner 1st, lorenzo 2nd and maybe pedrosa 3rd

but to be honest, the 1st two spots depend on how the yam performs or rather lorenzo performs on it by the last test....

the 3rd spot is really dicy..pedrosa seems to be having some issues with the weight...and his 1st test times are soo close to spies and even rossi for that that will depend on how he copes and also how much the ducati improves....

but lorenzo, stoner in the top 3 is a sure thing....

I'm really sic of reading how all Rossi fans aren't true MotoGP fans and how they are all so biassed.
It's total b*llocks, yes Rossi has allot of biassed fans but so do many other riders, particularly Stoner.
There's also allot of bias from both Rossi and Stoner fans in the agrees and dissagress on Crash, with both sides agreeing to ridiculous statements because they back their rider.
Luckily it's all totally irrelevant and makes no difference on race day.

Stoner is easily the favourite to win this season, you only have to look at the odds on any betting site to confirm that.

Personally I'd like to see Edwards win but we all know that isn't going to happen :-)

I can't add anything to that comment pretty spot on.

As a stoner fan I would suggest you get the tape of Catalunya 2007 have a look at it, and I think you will change your mind about whither stoner can battle or not ,I will back him in a battle with anybody.
I do however agree with you about Lorenzo ,I have him and stoner 50/50 for this year. I have said it on here many times if a couple of things went his way last year he would have won the title.
