''But what we've seen is Casey is the fastest and the most talented person, I would say, that's touched a road racing bike''

What does Ben Spies know ? it's not like he's a world class racer and i'm just a pathetic fanboy who knows better.

That's right, sarcasm. Just wait for the real ones to come along.

Stoner is the most talented and has the most raw speed. A lot of us have known this for a long time.

Ben's obviously never heard of Mike Hailwood who could win on a 125, 250, 350, 500 and 750cc machines against all opposition, and there was was some stiff competition in his day including Giacomo Agostini, Bill Ivy, Phil Read, Jim Redman et al!

Casey is super fast, as we all have seen. He still has to be battle tested for a few seasons before he can honestly claim himself the better "racer" over Rossi. No disrespect to Casey in any way, it's just that he always runs off into the sunset like a scolded rabbit, we're Vale has been a traditionally mediocre starter & strong finisher. Anyways, I think we'd all like to see them battle each other like in '07!

The best post I have read on this site. Hailwood my all time hero I am a stoner fan, but stoner, rossi,Lorenzo,Pedro not even in the same class, and the class he beat were some of the best riders I have seen. yes he was a special talent and for those that never seen him you missed something that will never be seen again

Man Stoner is fast but as far as overall talent & GOAT status goes, he's short of the mark. His only saving grace is that he's so fast that he avoids the melee of bike racing, he's unproven when it comes to dueling with the best. I say Lorenzo is better all round.
And well yeah the past is the past & all but Rossi pulled much bigger gaps when he rode for Honda.

Casey Stoner will be very hard to beat this year & is the clear favourite.

2012 contenders are Casey, Jorge & Dani Pedrosa.

hope to see Ben continue to improve and is riding the Yamaha well.

Poor old Ducati - they are much too busy "developing" to be competitive.
Rossi will be focussed on his ongoing battle with Cal Crutchlow and trying to avoid putting the Ducati in the kitty litter!
