3 things:
1.) If this was a MotoGP thread topic they'd already be 50 comments bleating about Rossi & Stoner. Funny how many fans ignore the smaller classes...

2.) I know there's a video of Marquez on a motocross bike, but I'm starting to think he'll never come back to road racing.

3.) Why would teams use non-spec engines, apart from to grab headlines? Makes no sense, and these times aren't even official. Does anybody know who might be using a 140bhp SS engine or similar?

We'll see the truth at the next Jerez test when all the teams use the control engine and there is official timing.
Until then, roll the dice, pick a time and offer it to the press!

Yes I'm sure the teams at this late stage are using wildly tuned engines, thus rendering the potentially priceless data gleaned from the test completely worthless. You guys ever been anywhere near the racing industry?

Usual suspects up there, hoping for a great season from Redding. Time to take his place as top British hopeful from the ever disappointing, and strangely well rewarded, Smith. This season in moto2 will again blow the premier class out of the water.

no, ifs, buts or maybes, in case you haven't noticed but Smith has beaten Redding in both the 125 and Moto2 championships, even though Redding had an extra year aboard a Moto2 bike, Smith (in his debut year) made him look less than ordinary, do you think that might be why he his better rewarded?

Mark my words Elias is dunzo... I like the guy and have been a fan but he lost his confidence and his edge. Bad move by Aspar on signing him, I'm sure he wasn't cheap. Best bet is for him to go to a national series like BSB or AMA. Sad but true and I have been saying this for a while now. He won the championship in moto2 against a bunch of guys who had never ridden 4 strokes and on a bunch of bikes that were in the stone age of development. He won't have a chance against guys like Marquez, Espargaro, Iannone (on good days) and Bradley Smith... Best of luck to you Toni.

I don't know if people find this interesting, disagree with it and I'll take a hint and stop posting twitter news in comments

Scott Redding:
"Today was good again I used 2 tyres all day (75 laps) , track conditions was not so for my feeling but tomorro will be better"

Bradley Smith:
"A lot of work today but happy with the progress. My head is still spinning with all the changes, but @Cdntom is on the right trail."

Tom Jojic (Tech 3 Engineer): Bike is running "bog standard road bike engine."

Tony Elias: "...many laps to understand more the bike...tomorow we will try to make step in front with more stability and cornering speed...24"

Ian Wheeler (Marc VDS Racing): "Some of the teams bought 2011 Geo Moto2 engines for testing. Other teams are using stock motors." "Because we don't receive the race engines until the final Jerez test in March" ...we bought the Geo motors, so we can test in race spec."
