Nice one Danny, the lap times are looking good compared to 125cc, not that much slower with a lot of testing to go. KTM looking good, Mahindra improving, would be good to see Webb up the sharp end with it.

Considering those (125) lap records were set by Simon and Marquez, two unquestionable talents, these times look very encouraging indeed.

It'd be nice for Moto3 to not only match the 2 stroke times but beat them, demonstrating some real evolution.

The impression from Valencia that Honda have work to do is reinforced by these times. The KTM runners are in a range 1:48.4-1:50.4, a mean of 1:49.4. The Honda guys range from 1:49.2-1:52.9. So the quickest KTM rider is 0.8 secs quicker than the quickest Honda and the average Honda rider is 1.65 secs adrift of the average KTM. That's quite a gap.

Surprised once again!
Honda had made great noise last year about their moto3 machine, about its yamaha yz-450 like reversed engine layout & had started its development very early.Pics of the bike was everywere with alex criville making its track debut & with all that hype it seemed honda would lead the way. However, its low key KTM thats looking promising, even the non-factory KTM powered bikes are faster than factory hondas.Great to see an european manufacturer challenge the mighty honda & show them how its done.

I think we all could be in for some quality races this year. Watching Vinales having to work his way through the field on a slightly slower bike will be awesome. Nice to see someone sponsored by repsol not be on the best bike for a change!
