Should have clarified that while Dorna may not listen to fans they do listen to the bottom line hence the reason they're looking to making the series more competitive. I beleive in one article the Dorna boss indicated it was a mistake not to limit electronics in the current version of the 1000's with the rules were being put together for this year.

Tommy I could be wrong but the CRT route is the direction they're moving toward eventhough the remaining manufacturer's won't like it. That decision will be made easier if this is another uncompetitive season. Last couple of years have been a snore-fest. Thank goodness for WSB/WSS.

@D88

If its indeed silly, let Honda put you on Casey's machine? See if what you just stated is still silly! Man you wouldn't even throw a pie in a pie factory, you are that silly and illiterate.

It's 80% rider and 20% Team.!

@Tommy van Gent @Marc
that's exactly the direction they are headed, ALL CRT's on the grid, they would have done it this year but, they needed more time to gain more control, b/c the manufactures are still controlling motogp, ie, Honda, otherwise they would do the same thing they did with Moto 2 (which provides us with the most exciting racing to date) as well the new Moto3's...
time will tell, but 2014 is their target date for all crts on the grid... after all... Moto 2 has proven to be a big success!

Lean two that makes sense. Agreed a Moto1/CRT similar to the moto2/3 which are competitve seems like the right direction as long as the electronics are either limited or eliminated. Do you think they'll stay with the one tire rule, I think so to maintain a more even playing field.

Irrespective of who you follow or support, motogp is an awesome spectacle. Spies Lorenzo Stoner Pedrosa Rossi Crutchlow... they all put there lives on the line for our entertainment. You cant ask for anymore than that.

@Marc
Yep... tires, electronics, frames, engines... I think so, like you said evening the playing field.
reminds me of the original Iroc series in nascar, where they issued all the drivers the same car each year, mustang, vette etc... ie, lets see who the best driver is with everybody on same equipment...

How do you level the field without issuing a "control" bike? Some riders would have to adapt their own style to suit the parameters of the bike. As Kevin Schwantz always states about the top riders in the world is that they ARE the best and no matter what you put them on they will always rise to the top. On a level playing field (control bike,tyres,ECU etc) do you think that James Ellison would whup Casey in a straight battle? I'm a "Pomgolian" (to keep Moe happy) and as much as I love James Ellison I wouldn't bet on him against one of the current cream of the crop.

well duh,, as one of the most hated posters here (because I'm 90% right), we few "realist" know that motogp has become a joke. Like it or not, it's NOW all about the bike. Rider skill, talent and speed are almost irrelevant. Dreamers keep wasting bytes with "I hope (insert rider) finds something on race day,, which doesn't happen anymore. This year. like last, will be only between the 2 Honda factory rides with and occasional win from Lorenzo. The satellites and Ducati's will never win a dry race,,, FACT !!
A better motogp? A grid with competitive machines so that rider skill determine the winner. And CRTs only insult my intelligence. Fine bikes in their on class, but they are not motogp machines by any stretch. Get them the hell off the same track! Obviously dumb down the electronics and bring back carburetors. Mechanical fuel delivery is an instant big money saver. And raise minimum weight. Want racing? watch WSS, WSBK and moto2 (without marquez and his special cheater bike.)You'll
