You spies haters kill me! The man didn't win all the championships he has for no reason. He is clearly working on race pace which will be crucial for when the lights go out at the first race. Let's see what the next two days have in store for us. Go yamaha!!

@benpies, he is fast. He is a lot faster than most of the other riders. So does that mean the rest of them should go back to where they came from? Spies is up against some stiff competition and being in the top 4 in testing consistently is really good right now.

The only Americans to win in moto gp or 500cc just got lucky. Spies isn't that good, he had a lucky year in wsbk and has been less than impressive since.

stomped everyone in WSBK... must be hard to impress people these days when he was one of few people to win on an 800... people are unimpressed that he hasnt beat the other top 3 guys week in and week out? well what about the rest of the field then? if spies is unimpressive then your saying we need a GP grid of what... 6...7 riders... or 3 in this case... I would have liked to see him win a few more races so far but to say he is unimpressive is a long shot... if he doesnt win a handful of races this year i will start to worry... everyone seems to hold him in high regard except people that hate on americans or just other riders other than their favorite in general

Go to Wikipedia, scroll down to "Career statistics", read those stats, and try telling me he's not good enough for MotoGP.

MotoGP is home to the world's best bike racers, and he clearly deserves his spot. When you've won everything else, there is simply no other place you deserve to be.
