You know what...So what. The glorious 1000cc era sucks.
Had the GPC stuck to 800 guns, the game would be tighter and cheaper. Just maybe Suz,Kawa and others would have been present.
Nevertheless,I always enjoy it.
800cc disbanded in order that the series accommodate slower riders I guess. FFS !!!
What's the Jerez race lap record ?

Again, dweebs, lap times in TESTING doesn't mean a darn thing, especially when the weather sucks too. The only time you need to worry about times are DURING A RACE. Anything else isn't worth the time bantering about...

I've said all along that 1000's were a marketing excersize to create artificial excitement and it has but the racing will pretty much remain the same.

The thing I don't understand is why those fully developed 800cc machines aren't out on track now? They would be more competitive than customer bikes or CRT and could shake up the inevitable outocmes of MotoGP races.

How about some sort of end of season claiming rule for Factory bikes?

@ Brian C

Your theory about the irrelevance of testing times in assessing the potential WC for the coming season doesn't work out so well when applied to last year. The testing times for the 2011 season were quite accurate when it came to indicating who would be at the front and who would win the WC.
