I cant help but think that the HD broadcasting of MotoGP has been done for one reason only - simply because the BBC lost live broadcasting rights to F1. BBC didnt give a sh*te before then, F1, Dads Army, Tennis, Bowling etc etc or anything else ALWAYS took precedence over live MotoGP on the BBC. They have put this 'spin' on it to convince us that they were always going to do this. If they still had F1 it would still be in SD............

OK everyone that doesn't like Cox & Parrish (me too) try doing what I did, make some notes, turn down the sound and try commentating yourself. Remember they only watch a screen like you do for 95% of the race.

Not so easy now is it?

Jackbee IF its anything like Eurosport used to be like (My sat receiver is dead) they have access to timing screens. However I don't think they use them at all. By the time Cox/Parrish say something its been obvious to me for a few laps normally eg a gap between two racers/packs coming down or an over take. Even a missing rider! They seem to make most time trying to work jokes into their prattle.

However, I guess every cloud has a silver lining...HD Brolly Girls!

I should add even when they spot a closing gap it always seems to be beyond their ability to compare the last few sets of lap times to interpret the reason for the gap change ie forward rider slowing or following rider getting faster. That was the info Toby and Julian used to give and greatly helped me know what was actually occurring in the race vs a late call from Cox (paraphrased) "Oh last time I looked the gap was 7 seconds but now I've noticed its 3 but I don't know whats going on but I can see its closer than before". Fecking marvelous!

What is the fascination with Moody and Ryder and Eurosport's faceless, amateur production? Just don't get it. The BBC with Burnacle and Whitham would be my bet. They'd last one round before being binned for effing and blinding but I would have them any day over that smug weapon, Ryder.
