Good inerview, really like the 500 idea for moto2.It's what kawasaki have been doing for years, with their big 4's and smaller twins, for sure the cost of machining/producing parts is cheaper then.

Great Interview keep it up with the bunny ears. Lucio is a true class act and gentlemen as well with the ladies, Hugh Hefner thinks so. Hope Motogp works out in the future for him and Bradl.

What is soo impressive is his business model. LCR don't have titles like Tech3 & Gresini but have been in the premier class for 6 straight years. Their sponsorship policy, packaged per-race as opposed to tying a sponsor down all season long is brilliant and one they've used with foresight before the world came crashing down. i have always been impressed by him and those Safilo bikes were delish..

re: "Q:
Do you think CRT is the future?

Lucio Cecchinello:
The reality is that motorsport is going through a difficult phase. First, the tobacco companies withdrew, and they had invested a lot of money in this sport. Then we had to face the global economic crisis which has reduced company profits, which of course has reduced sponsorship budgets. In this environment I think the sport has maybe reacted too quickly, changing too many rules."

behold... a politically correct way of saying... "NO".

Ok, these comments are getting really annoying. Not to mention stupid in the extreme.

I'll have no more bitching about the selfish manufacturers. Or the stupid riders. Ravings about a show. Racing wins when there's a good show. Nobody should be allowed to dominate, it's bad for racing.
These are all lifted directly from comments here. Of you've uttered any of the above you are a dibbik.
As an amateur racer, not to mention a human being, I can tell you that the teams and the riders out there on the paddock are there for one reason and one reason only. And that my simple friends..... Is to win. Doesn't matter of its by 1/100 of a second or by 20 seconds all they care about is winning.
It's up to the promoter to figure out a way to make you yokels pay to watch. The teams all do their jobs and do so very well. They know exactly what they need to try and do, namely WIN!!!!!!!
