@ badbob

Why would somebody "need" to master Stoner's "style"? Stoner's style works for Stoner. These professional riders have been crafting their style for decades. It's not something that you just change on the fly.

First off, I'd like to congratulate Casey & Adriana on the new little Stoner! I also believe that he will retain his title this season, be it by less of a margin to guys like Jorge & Spies. Here's my win total estimates for 2012: Casey 6-7, Jorge 4-5, Ben 2-3 & Dani 2-3.

Stoner's style ..Why it must be mastered,Well you don't need a degree road racing to see that riders are changing the way they ride, pay a little attention and it is obvious who's style they are emulating and the point you made is correct it takes many years to perfect there technique and from a young age. That's why I said no racing at the front.that is hard to come to grip's with but I hope for racing at the front.

without saying there is anything wrong with vales style ( there is not , its brilliant ), there is a lot of evidence that vale is trying to emulate some of stoners riding techniques. off season he did a lot of dirt biking and even took on a flat track for the first time to try get a grip with back wheel steering .
there is nothing wrong with this , it shows he is trying everything to make it all work , the ducati's under steer was solved by stoner with back wheel steering , so its only natural that vale is trying to emulate this technique....its a lot harder than it looks , especial y if you need to apply it at most high speed corners every lap at most tracks.

Maybe Stoner should just back right off this season and "fight" with Rossi at each round. I'm sure with the extra 3/4sec per lap up his sleeve he could put on a great show dicing with the great Rossi and pulling a "miracle effort" last lap to finish ahead.

The fans would go wild with the spectacle and not give a t0ss that Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Spies are 30 second in front.....

Awaiting the 1st race at Qatar is as exciting as the last race of 2011 season. Forget Lorenzo, forget Pedrosa and forget Rossi for this round. They can make their mark on the next round.

But this round is for Stoner and Spies. Both has to step up when battling each other out. Stoner has to step up if Spies got a strong home run like at 2011 Assen.

While Spies has to step up make more stronger home run like last season of Assen and Valencia. Their bikes is ready and equally strong on each characteristics.

So yeah I'm exciting as Stoner too. Let the battle begins...
