What's the problem with talking about engine performances? Is that a bicycle racing or what?

I'm not saying the best engine will win in the race day, but I like to watch the engines performance. There is nothing wrong with that.

It's a FP where set-ups are being tested, and the usual Crash.net nerds are already at it. My God! Common sense is not abundant here. And whoever said that Hayden is ALWAYS ahead of Rossi was talking out of their ass. Nicky was ahead of VR in 3 races ONLY during the 2011 season.

It is important not to get confused between horsepower, top speed or engine performance.

It is interesting to look at the top speeds relative to lap times. They might tell you something about the individual set ups of each riders bike. They all have their own gearing preferences.

More horse power doesn't necessarily mean higher top speed at the end of the straight if the bike is geared with a bias towards acceleration. Or maybe the bikes with a taller top gear don't have the space on the straight to make use of it, who knows, certainly none of us here do.

Pinto,

History has shown that power and top speed isn't everything. Honda always had the best top speeds and the most power. Why didn't they win a championship before Stoner joined them?

@XenYZM,

I know all this sh!t, top speed means nothing and bla bla bla. But for me the engine's power is a championship apart.

And, Honda always tops the timesheets? Go look at motogp.com. BTw, the current top speed record is registered by the "pig" red bike.

Stoner is going to have is work cut out this year. Looking at Ducati there seems to be a few mind games being played,that bike is fast and looking stable.
