Respect is won on track and that's what Cal is doing right now. You can tell in the words and reactions of the top riders that they are starting to take him seriously now, and so they should.

There's a new kid on the block and he's fast.

Absolutely brillant Cal!

Now, he needs to put it together in the race. I said last year that Cal proven he belong in GPs based off his speed in QP. Now he has to work out his race pace and learn to adjust to the changing conditions of the tires and the bike as it gets lighter burning off fuel. He was pushing too hard when he shouldn't have a couple of times last year and he missed some opportunites to score good finishes. Jerez comes to mind. Cal's best chances of scoring brilliant finishes will be at the first part of the season before the factory bikes move on in development.

Excellent showing by Cal! Lets hope he can produce a good result in the race, no reason why he shouldn't. He's used to managing tyres that go off from his time in WSS and WSBk on Pirellies. Nice to hear him keeping a level head and sounding confident.
