I didn't know GP was 'boys have at it' nascar style. If a penalty isn't handed down after repeated offense by one rider then the governing body is literally saying 'boys have at it' to the whole field. I really like some hard racing, but damn that was incredibly foolish, especially on that part of the track.

"Marquez had every right to take the line as he was ahead"

@ inconvenience

Marc was not FULLY ahead of Luthi. Luthi had every right to hold his line and if he would have held it and not taking action by running off track Marc would have collide with him - that is the problem.

It is the responsibility of the overtaking rider/driver in any motorsport to complete the pass successfully if the rider/driver being overtaken holds their line.

In F1 last year Vettel did the same thing to his teammate Webber but he turn right into him and hit him becuase Webber was holding his line. Just like Luthi, Webber had ever right to continue on his line.

It's time for the rest of the field to start making a point by purposefully putting some heavy moves on Marquez. It was a fantastic race, Marquez is a great talent and deserved the victory, but Luthi could have had an accident. Race control aren't going to do anything, so it is up to Ianone, Redding et al to take up the task of putting some manners on the rude Spaniard.

I really enjoyed the moto2 racing a lot. It was the best in along time. All of us did. Most like hard close racing ON the racing line and ON track. Nobody wants the racing to end up like the F1.In the end it was good for racecontrol to avoid making a bigger point out of this than a "yellow card". But...Marquez should have left room for Luthi. Luthi could have WON the race from Marquez or most certainly could have battled for the rostrum. He being put out of contention with an amateur move like that sucks...it was wrong. Marquez not doing it on purpose doesn't make it better...that is my inconvenient truth whatever you say.

I'm all for hard riding, but here's the thing:

Zarco was on the inside of Terol coming out of a turn on acceleration. Zarco had the racing line advantage and pushed Terol. Terol had the opportunity to roll off.

Marquez swerved in front of Luthi at close to 270ks in braking zone. Luthi cannot brake harder than physics will allow and if he's being pushed off then it's doubly dangerous.

They made a precedent last year but looks a little like it's a precedent that on the face of it applies to anyone but a large Spanish sponsored team. That's got to stop.

Great race yesterday it has to be said.I think Marc was just over zealous with his pass on Thomas there. Not overly dangerous,if it had been, race direction would have punished him,but it was very close to the edge.Thomas must have known though, that Marc was on his inside and was not going to give in.If Thomas knew he was going to run wide,he could have backed off and let Marc through and tried to take him later in the last lap.I think Rawdawg called it well.No punishment required but a little word in Marcs ear may be in order.

It looked to me that on the long start finish straight, Marquez had experimented over a couple of laps and found that he didn't have the same speed advantage over Luthi that he had over Iannone and would lose out in a dash to the line unless he was well in front. Therefore he deliberately decided to put Luthi out of the reckoning by cutting across in front of him at the last moment on corner entry, to force Luthi off. If it weren't for Marquez's history, I'd be more inclined to let it go. We'll have to see how things develop, but Marquez certainly didn't make any Swiss friends last night and if he continues in this way, by the end of the season he will be known as Marc "Marked man" rather than Marquez.
