MM,I am sory mate but you are quite wrong.Marquez is a professional racer and there is no way he would deliberately run another rider off track!
Race direction obviously think the same.If they had deemed that move to be dangerous and deliberate, they would have hauled Marquez on the carpet and grilled him.But they didnt.People wanted close racing and that is what they got.As the old saying goes,if you cant take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

(Part 1/3)
I was left feeling cheated after the Moto2 race, having been really concerned for Marquez's health during the winter and at one point fearing that Sepang may end up claiming arguably the two brightest stars currently in MotoGP, in one foul swoop. His decision to pull a foul swoop of his own was both unnecessary and unsporting as he already gained the advantage and Luthi would have to yield anyway. Does a rider have to fall off before a punishment is handed out? I know it's motorcycle racing and not knitting, but that's the point - it's f**king dangerous and people die already, they don't need some loose cannon riding amongst them pulling that kind of stunt. Look who he chose, Tom Luthi, probably the cleanest rider in Moto2, and about the only one of that lead group not to have pulled a hard move on Marquez during the race.

(Part 2/3)
Luthi could have easily come a cropper at Losail, they're traveling at 175mph before hitting the brakes - which is when Marquez swerves into him - and once the rumble strip runs out, there's just yard of astro-grease about the same of grippy gravel and then a wall. The consequences of cutting another riders nose off very really can be a matter life or death.

Marquez lost my respect last night, the lad is massively talented and his actions were that of a coward, he must have thought the only way he could win the race was by sending Luthi off the circuit - and he knew damn well that would happen - so for him to go ahead and pull the move I find really upsetting and disturbing.

(Part 3/3)
Marquez knowingly put Tom Luthi into a position of danger and I think that he and race control are a disgrace. I suppose Luthi has to fall off and break a collarbone like Pedrosa did at Le Mans last year. (edited after reading Sam's following post) Just to clarify my position regarding Le Mans, in my opinion Pedrosa is 100% at fault and Simoncelli made him look like a novice pulling off one of the best passes ever. Pedrosa, the lighter rider on the better bike, brakes first and yet he still can't slow down enough, meanwhile the big scary man weighs almost double that of Pedrosa, starts braking way later and comfortably makes the turn without incident - telemetry even proved Sic did exactly as he had on every other lap, but that was discounted. It was Dani's fault, he was just trying to be a pain in the arse and underestimated Sic's skill massively. Dani broke himself and then set a world record for collarbone recovery as he knew Stoner had him beaten already. The whole thing

I agree, he knew his advantage wasnt as great w/ Luthi, & Luthi probably had the faster lap time. Marquez is a brat, who doesnt learn from his own mistakes. I can think of another rider who almost never learned from their mistakes, too bad he died right at the point where he was becoming a better rider. A real shame.

Repsol Honda, i hate to burst your bubble mate but a rookie cannot enter the premier class straight into a factory team.So no,you wont see Marquez in the Motogp Repsol squad next season.Nice try though.

May i remind you of the time last year when Simoncelli put Pedrosa in hospital by pulling a silly move. But nearly everyone here simply labelled it a racing incident!
What Marquez did yesterday was a tough pass, something Valentino Rossi fans would revel in!
I have seen far worse passes pulled on riders than the one Marquez pulled yesterday and noone has batted an eyelash.

@Domski123 spot on analysis. The lad is talented but arrogant and has already put someone in hospital with serious injuries due to his arrogance and reckless disregard for the safety of his fellow competitors.

It is high time Race Direction stepped in, because his arrogance will injure riders again, I just hope next time it is not serious or grave or worse. BUT it does appear that the only time they give penalties is when the rider who is the victim of the hard move is highly sponsored Spanish rider - Sic on Pedrosa, Penalty. Zarco on Terol, Penalty. Marquez on Luthi, Redding and others, No Penalty, and the penalty for the Wilairot incident was only a token slap on the wrist - Hopkins got a race ban for far far less. If the others dish out the same treatment to Marc I bet RD step in with the heavy handed penalties then.

Lets face it MotoGP is a Spanish championship and Dorna are happy to keep it that way as long as a Spanish rider or Spanish company is in the number 1 spot. Maybe th
