'I didn't make a great start and lost a few positions and that is a bit disappointing because I'm sure I could have been much closer to the top three' - Cal Crutchlow

@anon

That may be but he's been in GP for years and years and been to this circuit many times. Cal is only in his 2nd year and I don't think he's been to Qatar before last year.... there are several ways to view it.

I think more than most Crutchlow is a rider who benefits from confidence, and he looked confident today! It looked as if he had really got to grips with a MotoGP bike and was enjoying flinging the Tech3 Yamaha around - it reminded me of his Yamaha WSS rides against Laverty. Brilliant ride!

Awesome job by Cal, only those who don't know the man would call him arrogant, self belief is an admirable trait of which few people can call on, you go kid , good luck from South Africa

In the after race interview Crutchlow said ruefully that they'd moved the seat on his bike back so with his midget legs he was having trouble reaching the ground and holding it at 100% throttle :-) he also said that by the time he'd reached Dovi the aliens had gone so there was no point thrashing for the overtake.

Plenty more to come from Dovi I suspect.

Why does Cal always talk himself out of a podium, he qualified better than Dani yet he say's he could not of run with those guys?? He beat his teamate and so he should have, his 2nd season with this yamaha team and he was still a fair way back from top 3. Think big Cal!

Great performance from Crutchlow yesterday.He was being held up by Dovi for a while in my opinion and could well have finished the race closer to the top 3 if he had managed to get passed him sooner.Well done lad.A podium will surely come at some point in the championship.
