“We know the bike is competitive and can beat Honda, we just have to fix mine” – Ben Spies.

One has to believe that Yamaha had a spare chassis available, they would have never traveled without one, so it must have been reserved for Lorenzo only. I would not be surprised by this, given the complete lack of support displayed and voiced by Jarvis for Spies, he may be assisting Spies' departure from the team. Time to put up a wall, quit sharing data, and go your own way. I believe that Spies could win the championship this year and not be resigned by Yamaha. It is a shame that politics dictate some much in international motorsports, because it should be about the racing not the team principal.

This is beginning to be too repetitious not to reflect some deep set problem in the Spies garage. JLo seems to operate with machine like efficiency without these "problems" that never seem to cease. I would not bet a dime on the next race of Spies having a successful trouble free run. As much as it pains me to say that.

They did have a back up bike for Ben this past weekend but like I said it was found to have an issue with the electronics which could have been anything. "Electronics" is the MotoGP equivalent to F1's "hydraulics" which can mean the engine, transmission or anything. But this found out on Friday. I'm assuming it was something that could not be fixed at the track and needs to be fixed at the factory.

Since the chatter issue occurred during the warm up, I'm assuming that it wasn't enough time between warm up and the race to strip down the back up bike and use that chassis.

"If Spies gets dumped from Yamaha then the whole of America will go with him"

@YamahaGYTR

I don't know about that.

If Spies gets dumped because Spies didn't perform on track than that's Spies fault. But if he's not given the proper equipment than that's another story. But you have to believe that Yamaha isn't short handing Spies. At least I didn't think so.
