sometimes 6th place can be a fair result,especially if the bikes a fkn pig,as is the case,but being around 30 sec of the pace is so poor,really bad for a team that has a world title as their goal,all the ducati riders are around the same pace,from the japs,even if it is a little easier to ride,its still fkn useless at the moment,i hope it improves ,but i doubt it really,some head guy in ducati has to tell the designers to do it right,or theres the door

One second difference from last year isn't bad considering that the overall time increased by the race winner by 10 seconds? Even though these bikes have more power, they also have a bigger motor and certainly can't run with the fuel limitations they have. So, there are some compromises in lap speed. Even QP times were higher this year. A lot of factors go into the gap. The lead pack was maxed out and didn't have many issues. Crutch and Dovi had their own pace. The third pack was literally being held up by Ben Spies. Bradl was the only one to get through the roadblock without issue. It's just the first race, but this Ducati is a lot better, if anything because the front is more confident. Anyone who's raced knows, you can only go as fast as you trust that front.

@funstuff
Are you that bored and insecure that the only way to puff yourself up is to beat on Nicky? If he was given the #1 rider credentials that have been given to EVERY OTHER TEAMMATE HE HAS RACED WITH, he'd have more wins. Edwards was in the same position as Nicky with Yamaha. ZERO wins. Nicky has a MotoGP title. Pedrosa, Edwards, Biaggi (MotoGP), Gravelplow, etc have ZERO. It's not the number of wins you have, it's the TITLE. Ignorant people like you make me lol.

@funstuff:
Oh I get it now. You are really Colin Edwards in the flesh, I just didn't realize you had nothing better to do in your life, what, with being shown to door on the many different MotoGP teams you've ridden for. Reminder:

MotoGP Titles:
Hayden: 1
Edwards: 0
Spies: 0
Biaggi: 0
Gibernau (Gravelplow): 0
Melandri: 0
...and on and on and on.

Edwards, you have been on a Factory team. So has/is Spies, Biaggi, Gravelplow, Melandri and the list goes on. Titles count, not wins. Wins are for show, Titles are for PROS.

"Easy to win the championship when you're on the best team with the *2nd best bike* and your teammate has bike failures. When Nicky got his title there was no competition besides Rossi who had bike troubles and lost too many points."

Are you counting the fact that when the pressure was on in the last race of the season with the title on the line, Nicky was already beating Rossi and then Rossi FOLDED UNDER THE PRESSURE and crashed?! Of course not. Don't forget Pedrobot spearing him off the track! It was between Rossi #1 rider and Hayden testing parts for Pedrobot. Hayden wins. Pedrobot: 0 Titles in MotoGP. Lots of wins, no titles.

@funstuff (Colin Edwards)
Let's not forget. Dovisioso took Hayden's spot at Repsol. 0 MotoGP titles. Pedrobot: #1 rider for Repsol: 0 MotoGP titles. Stoner with Repsol, like he did his first year with Ducati, won another title his FIRST year. All you care about is wins. All the manufacturers care about is *TITLES*. And right now, Hayden's doing a much better job at Ducati than that Prima Donna Rossi. He should take his money and quit right now as he's doing a disgrace to racing.

Whether Hayden impressive or not, he need to continue to pursue his own goal in the competition. He has improve significantly on Ducati in 2010.

So. he need to return to that point to get the familiarity he could use as a gauge and moving forward. 6th place with 6 seconds delays is closer to 4th place in 2010. It's an indicator that his data is a good data to be used in improving his results.
