Why is he in MotoGP next year? Because you have goldfish memories clearly. He beat his World champ team mate DiMeglio last year into the weeds, where was DiMeglio at the weekend? He qualified 5th, finished 7th (both ahead of Bradley) so if Bradley was on the same bike as DiMeglio using past results he would undoubtedly have been ahead again, front row and podium even. Only Bradley and Simeon are on the self build Tech3 Mistral, stick him on a Suter, FTR, Kalex or SpeedUp and he would be right in there.

How many times does it have to be said?

Tech3 aren't desperate to recruit riders with pots of cash. They are a sufficiently established and well supported team to be able to pick and chose riders.

Cal was being trashed until last weekend, and look how well he did. By any measure (place, best lap time, vs team mate, vs last year) he did well. Fair play to Tech3 for knowing what they are doing, rather than listening to armchair racers.

Rant over.

If Tech 3's Mistral is badly outpaced this year, maybe it's possible that they'll fold the Moto2 effort and revive their CRT project for next year. If that were to happen, it would make a lot of sense for Bradley to be introduced into MotoGP on the CRT machine. It would remove some of the weight of expectation and allow him to learn the ropes a little before pitching him in at the real deep end. To jump from top 10 in Moto2 to top 5 in MotoGP would be a big ask for anyone.

DonR - that would be good to see and would bring more competitive machinery to the grid. I doubt that they would drop Moto2 because they are clearly now using it as a training academy and a stepping stone from Moto3. Moto3 to CRT would be an even bigger step, although it would be a great step up from WSBK or WSS.

,agree with most, Smith is grossly over rated and over hyped. For the last 2 years I have taken the bait and watched moto2 waiting for what every commentator proclaimed at the beginner of the race that Bradly will win/podium. My patients is DONE. Tech3 has lost it. What a waste. Smith is average at best and looks like he'll never content in moto2, much less gp. Probably a nice bloke but,, many other Brit riders deserve the promotions and considerations.
