@MclarenP...good point there...if Vale was ridin Casey's Honda he would have won for sure...coz hez a thinker..especially while ridin...hez good when it comes to ridin worn out tyres. If hez got the right bike hez the master in racin craft...and i find it amusin, ppl say Qatar 2012 was an excitin race..what..we had 2 overtakes, one by Jorge, another by Dani...yeahh..inbetween Jorge overtook Dani...we want fairing age riders..or as Vale says...pussiesss....

Rossi showed humility in accepting the award, and contrary to some postings, a lack of ego.Our two peneth, counts for nothing. I'm not aware of anybody posting on the site being expert on the situation. If he comes back from the current situation to win again, wether with Ducati or another manufacturer, then he will have demonstrated true strength of character.I wish I had just the talent that these guy's have in their little finger. Respect to all riders.

@ McLarenP

I think you are right about that comment you made a few days ago about Vale having to stay with Ducati until the end of the year because of a water tight Marlbrough contract.

Looks like It's taken his lawyers a week to figure out he can't run away mid season, hence todays announcment.

And yes you are correct when you said he should only criticise Ducati if he is the fastest Ducati rider out there not the feelings here

@beno - "Just give rossi the best bike on the planet and he will be up the top again"

Could say the same thing about Stoner. Where was he on the LCR Honda? Nowhere. Give him a red missile, wins the championship. Give him a black yellow and red missile, wins the championship. Rossi made the Repsol Honda and the Factory Yamaha what they are today. 9 World championships? How can anyone say that he's not a master?

The current problems with Ducati wont last forever and we'll see Rossi flying again.

Rossi isn't riding the Ducati hard enough?

Look at all the crashes he had in 2011.

Google "Rossi spinnaker" and check the article from GpOne. Rossi has tried duplicating Stoner's riding style but it's futile because you can't make what works for someone else work for you so late in your career.

YouTube Valentino's overtake on Simoncelli in Sepang of 2010. That's what he wants. When he tries that on the Ducati, he falls off (remember his crash with Stoner at Jerez? Bautista at Australia?)

Of course he won't leave Ducati, if I got paid 15 million I would do the same.

He has exhausted his repertoire of excuses, first it was his physical condition that wouldn't enable him to ride the bike as it should be ridden, then it was the lack of front end feel, ...

My opinion is that he should learn a lesson or two from Hayden, that just keeps his head down and works as hard as he can, and after giving him a few extra races of grace, Ducati should consider dumping him and getting someone else (since he won't renounce to his big paycheck voluntarily).
