Here is the problem with the way that you comprehend and process information...

...You choose tidbits and isolate points rather than taking my ENTIRE post in context.

No, I didn't forget that Stoner had a multitude of crashes. Why did he crash? Because the bike that he was riding was ill-developed. I didn't fault Stoner for crashing just like I don't fault Rossi for crashing.

As far as the Hayden inquiry, let's paint the picture this way:

Rossi, the most successful contemporary MotoGP rider, can ride the most ill-developed, temperamental bike on the grid, have the absolute worst season of his entire career, assist with the development of a bike that he has no experience on WHILE trying to fight for position, crash multiple times (which Hayden didn't), and STILL beat Hayden in points. What does that say about Hayden? It sure doesn't suggest that he has improved significantly.

It also doesn't suggest that Rossi has forgotten how to ride a GP bike in one season. After all, he did break a leg, make a miraculous return, then podium and win after the fact. Thus, the assertion that the crash "broke his spirit" is quite silly.

It is reasonable to theorize that Hayden has always been an average rider. His stats lend credence to the statement. Rossi, however, has not been an average rider, and Stoner is very talented as well. The commonality is the Ducati, not a lack of talent.

The Ducati has been problematic for many a season, and even the "coveted" Bayliss didn't do much on it (which always begs me to question what's the hype surrounding Bayliss?). Sure, he had his day in WSBK, but he failed to impress in GP.

amazing how casey is a moaner and a crasher... yet rossi on the ducati turns into a slow slightly less crashing moaner and his word is still gold
and only one person has mentioned that when hayden won his title he was riding a bike that was openly being developed for pedro, getting ****ed around buy honda and puig, and he still won the title even after danny took him out... and he didnt bitch about it at all, kept his mouth shut like a professional and went out and did his thing... he had some good rides as stoners team mate and if you ask me its because they got along and casey knows he is fast and doesnt have an ego that needs to screw his team mate

realist, ok i have just skimmed by your waffle of a post again, but what part of my question did you not comprehend? Why are you struggling to process this information and answer the simple question?

Rossi is running around with Hayden (behind him by a long way at the moment in fact), but even based on last season, has Hayden massively improved and come up to the level of Rossi, or has Rossi massively failed and come down to the level of Hayden. The first measure of a riders performance is by comparing that rider to his team mate.

Which part of this do you are you not comprehending? Why cant you process this question and answer it? It has to be one or the other. But im sure you'll post another load of jargon to mask and divert from anwering the simple question. You user name is very ironic and you clearly have the yellow shine blinding you from reality.

The statement below:

Rossi, the most successful contemporary MotoGP rider, can ride the most ill-developed, temperamental bike on the grid, have the absolute worst season of his entire career, assist with the development of a bike that he has no experience on WHILE trying to fight for position, crash multiple times (which Hayden didn't), and STILL beat Hayden in points. ...answers your question, or at least explains my perspective, regarding his perceived improvement and/or VR's decreasing ability on the track.

Or did you just conveniently overlook that?

To put it simply, no, I don't believe that Hayden has grown significantly. You could also read my comments on the "Hayden is happy with 6th" article.

I patiently waiting for Hayden 1st win on Ducati. Rossi is going desperate to change the Ducati completely into something else to destroy the upper hand that Hayden, Barbera and Karel had on the same bike.

Rossi don't care about Ducati better bike or not. What he care is only Ducati make a Rossi-bike. He want to replicate Stoner superiority on Ducati and erase Stoner glories from Ducati history book. Quite an agenda...
