Yes,Rossi and Ducati can work.
He just needs to ride it like Stoner did. After all,he is the GOAT isnt he?...posted by mick

Yes mick rossi is the goat and did ride the ducati like stoner did. As you probably know and dont want to admit last year rossi lapped the duke at the same pace as stoner did in the years before. The only reason rossi podiumed once on the ducati is because the yamahas and hondas made a big step in development allowing stoner, lorenzo, simmo and even dovi to ride into the distance. Wind back 1 year Jerez 2011. The rain was a great leveler. The honda yamaha advantage diminished and you have rossi slicing through the field like a hot knife through butter and catching your beloved stoner easily who was lapping 1.5 seconds a lap slower than rossi until rossi lost the front on turn 1 and brought stoner off.

Rossi was been beaten by both Stoner and Lorenzo before his move to Ducati. Age may have caught up to him. He is still fast, but lacking in confidence. There may not be enough time for him or Ducati to recover for one more run.

@ Ritchie
the development of the bike is all Rossi and burgess is it?
There was me thinking that the factory and engineers developed it and Rossi/burgess just tried to find the best setup with what they were given, it would appear that ducati are ploughing on with their own development program regardless of what Rossi and Hayden are saying is required.

Rossi will never perform on the Ducati, nor will he ever be fast. Picky Italian and European riders simply cannot ride through problems. If anything is less than perfect a simple mental block stops them from going fast. Its ROSSI! not Ducati.

Australian Riders and American Riders are the only guys on the planet that can get on a Motogp bike and have it buck like a bull and still go fast and dont get worried if the bike moving around a bit. Rossi is no Casey Stoner he's not even close. The only time Rossi is the best is when his Equipment is superior. He cannot make a decent bike win. And is a mere Factory Backed grid filler. Hardly the best ever

Realfan. This site is populated by people who have been telling us for years that Rossi and Burgess are development gods. Now they cant get the bike to the podium,it is suddenly the engineers fault!
So are you now saying that it is not Rossi and Burgess who were responsible for past victories?
I know that Rossi has nothing to do with bike development, but try telling Rossi fans that. When he wins its because he is a development god. When he doesnt it is the engineers fault for developing the bike wrong!
Cant have it both ways!

Ducati Data showed that when Casey Stoner went around the track he was crashing nearly 3-4 times but he was on 2-wheels for the whole practice session! What does that tell you, he's a MAN and has big balls to be able to push the limits of the bike and Himself in order to remain at the top of the timesheets.
That is true grit and determination, something not many riders in the paddock have. Nicky is up there, just doesnt have the overall skills. But all Australians are badass riders and are my favorite for sure cause of there grit and ability to ride through problems making them dissapear and having people say well you won the bike must be awsome. Bayliss, Doohan, Stoner, Fogarty you are all gods.

Look at Nascar, Marcos Ambrose can addapt an drive those **** box cars around the track fast. Yet any of the Euro's that try to make the transition suck. Even Montoya, that guy passed Schumi on the outside and he cant even beat **** Trickle unless its on a Road Course.

LCTanner. If Rossi is the GOAT as you claim, why is it only Casey Stoner has had any succes for Ducati?
Rossi has even admitted himself that he simply cannot ride the bike.Hardly the attitude from a rider who is the greatest of all time is it?
Now that Rossi is on the difficult to ride Ducati, his riding skills have been exposed as being no better than many on the grid.People like you say Stoner only wins on the best bike.Well, that applies to Rossi too right?
The Ducati has exposed him big time. You cant deny that. His results speak for themselves.

Ducati: Keep Jeremy Burgess, ditch Valentino. Id go with a badass Spanish rider with alot of Fighting Spirit or go after Cal Crutchlow. Better yet turn your Panigale into a CRT bike then you have an excuse to be 2 seconds off the pace.
