Funny how countries that cant feed and look after their own population can find the money for nuclear weapons and put on International cricketing events and bid for F1 races !

@Geoff ..

I assume you have the education of 4 year old or less.. this is held / built / organised by a private company and not an organisation..

just because you come from a more developed country does not mean you can belittle every emerging market you fool.. get a life..

@ leonidas

i agree with you. just because the country is an "emerging country", doesn't mean that it cannot afford to have a world sporting event at their soil.

for once, see it from a different perspective. forget about their economic problems or lack of motorsport tradition. the first thing for any new sport (F1, MotoGP, or WSBK) to succeed in India - do the country have a strong fan/supporter base?

its the giverntment's job of feeding the people and the government is currently in deep sh*t......

if you just consider the net money, india must have a higher GDP than quite a few developed countries.....

the feeling you get from some guys here...they give the impression if a country is developing, all the people out there are by default poor..

regarding fan base....

its the biggest problem

moto gp fans are quite rare here

you may find a f1 fan here and there but moto gp is close to nill.....till date i have just found 1 guy who watches moto gp....

and neither i nor him watch WSBK..so thats out of the picture....
