As x motocross rider i have the utmost respect for any of these guys who race on the hard stuff that really hurts when you fall off . I loved watching VR just hunt people down till they made a mistake and he has the record of making Max give up gp racing and then go to wsp and i also enjoyed watching barros he was a demon on the brakes . I just enjoy watching all the riders who do this for our entertainment the stoners ,jlo, dovi ,spies, edwards ,dani i know enough to know they all got big balls and anyone sitting at home picking on them via computer probably has small ones

"Jack have you seen the last 4 for races of the 2002 season? Barros jumped on the 4 strokes and got MORE points than Rossi did in those races. So I'd say that Barros was very much in the same league as Rossi. It's just he was never on the right bike at the right time. Hell, I even remember Barros on a satellite Ducati beating Stoner once at Mugello."

Speed is one thing you need in order to be in the league of Rossi, Stoner or Doohan. Consistency is another. Barros might well have had the speed but he lacked the consistency. One race he would beat Stoner, the next he would be nowhere. So, I still stand strong on what I said: Barros was very competitive but not in the league of (Put any multichampion's name here).

"Well good for you if you enjoyed Rossi hunting through with a superior machine and tyre advantage"

When? Pre 2007 he was on overnight specials, like ALL the top Michelin riders enjoyed (you haters make it sound like only Rossi got them... he didn't). In 2007? Superior tyre advantage for Bridgestone? He lost. He wanted Bridgestone in 2008 and got them. Result? He won.

It's hilarious that the Rossi haters will try and down-play any achievement this guys has made is down to having no competition, special tyres, special bike etc. LOL... When Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa start on their downslides in years to come, you will be laughing at the same noobs that will say the same thing about them. Respect Rossi, cos history will!

Gee... getting slated for the Failure comment about Barros.

I may have used the wrong word, but I still think Alex Barros Career is a disappointing one. Come on 7 wins. Started the 500cc back in 1990 and finished in MotoGP in 2007. Sure he had moments, but if one looks at his full career. It does not look that great

Biaggi is not a failure. He was great in the 250cc class, and is a champion in WSBK.
Someone said to be on the GP bike, shows you are one of the top riders in the world. But tell me this. The guys on CRT bikes. Do they deserve to be in the premiere class of MotoGP? Its all about who brings in the sponsorship.

For the new fans (stoner fans) here's a challenge. Can stoner declare that Rossi or Lorenzo will not win another MotoGP race? Rossi has done it and it did came to pass.

@ Rainey #1. Thanks for the reminder. Lawson was something else. How time goes by. I'll never forget his win in the wet at Kyalami 1984. Been around. I guess there are others that slip my mind harkening back to the fifties and 60's too.
Anyway, if Rossi ever wins a race on the Ducati by hook or by crook, I won't complain about it.

@Daniela: yes, Jack Findlay was a great person but Nanou his girl friend (not spouse, they were never married) was such a character, greater than life...She left him after he quits racing. She lives in Nice now, alone. Thanks to them for their help in my racing "career" (4 years of racing but only 1 single GP...!)

@Cute Baby. Thats old news. Many of us old Roberts/Lawson/Rainey/Doohan/Stoner/Lorenzo fans figure the question right now should be : Can Rossi predict he will ever win another race ? :)
Here's hoping. With all the Ducati investment in him, the team need a break.
