Stoner never really puts in quality practice laps. I honestly think he has always had a fitness issue. With the heavier bike and now with chatter it wll only make his arm pump worse. He may go back to his old Ducati ways. Win, crash, podium, crash, miss podium, miss podium, win, crash.
Pedrosa or Lorenzo for the win with Dovizioso in 3rd. Rossi 4th, Stoner 5th followed by Crutchlow and Hayden then Bautista.

Sorry the Brit podium draught will continue.

I agree Rob, I also think the more level playing field meaning he has to grind out wins (against his team mate as well) mean there is a mental issue there too.

Not saying he is necessarily soft mentally but he has more to think about this year than last.

I call it the MV Agusta Syndrome where you are very good rider on the premier machine and the others catchup and you have lactose intolerance and armpump and chatter. Pedrosa seems happy.

Maybe a reason spies and rossi are dosn by a second or more... Al the fastest laptimes have been made in the first 20 minutes of practise.... Anyone who aimed for a fast lap was doing this in the beginning of practise... After 20 min the rain came pouring down... Maybe that's why rossi, spies and co couldn't put in a flyer... In my humble opinion their main focus on this session was on tyrewear... Maybe in the end try to put in a fast lap... But that was the wrong choice... Only qualifying will tell...

re: "Maybe he doesn't want to bend his chassis again. Once bitten twice shy!"

maybe even twice bitten THRICE shy. didn't he "yardsale" along with several others in the deluge of silverstone...? yup, it's only round 2. it helps to not be injured when the circus could easily not see another drop for the whopping 16 rounds that remain.
