Great effort Cal! You can see his confidence on the bike. What a difference from last season. Shame about the mid session crash but the fact he remounted on a bike initially set up for the wet and pulls out a 4th just goes to show how far the boy has come in such a short space of time. Lets hope it develops into a strong race result tomorrow. Podium???

Well done Cal. I hope he keeps this up all season. One question though. Why or how or on what basis did Bradley Smith get a Tech3 contract for next year? Has he even won a Moto2 race yet. Has he even been on the podium in Moto2? I'd take Iannone before Smith. Smith wasn't a speed demon in 125's either. I remember Casey when he was in the 125's and 250's on average machinery just because his results spoke for themselves. Smith is, and was, not a standout performer.

If Cal keeps this up who will make room for Smith next year? Tech3 have a great line-up already, all Yamaha need to do is give a factory bike to the highest championship finisher this year.

One other thing. If not for the English commentators telling us "Bradley Smith has moved up from 17th to 12th, "so he's storming through the field" (though still half a second a lap slower than the top five) I would have no idea he was even there. At least we don't have to listen to it twice any more since the last great hope (Chaz Davies) is well and truly buried in midfield in SBK (or is it SS?).
