Ok let me correct "straight line speed" with the very good acceleration due to the 1000000 dollar gearbox. Even Bradl, a rookie, ended up in front of all the Ducati's. The Honda is the best bike overall..period.

SOrry, but Bradl is on a very close works bike, he has tons of sponsorship and interests (think Germany) looking to see him succeed, he does not have the inferior package that Elias had last year. The Yamaha is clearly the best bike on the grid, its cornering performance is much better than the Honda and the Yamaha is no slouch down the straights. Put Casey on the Yamaha and Honda would find it very difficult to win ever again.

The only thing that would keep Casey from winning on the Yamaha is the traction control.

if you watched the race hard enough you can see jlo kept up with stoner by closing the distance every corner , so the yams handling is still the bike to beat .
there is more power in them bikes than they will ever use so straight line speed is whatever the rider feels confident enough to use , over all the yam is the best package this year , everything fell into place like a jigsaw puzzle including adaption to the new tires and the extra 4kg weight , whereas honda is still trying to find a balance.
stoner is honda's ace under there sleeve and will bring them results anyway while they continue to work out the bike , ducati used to have the same ace up there sleeve.

I saw the same thing Dacron. Casey hard out of the corners pulling away from Lorenzo. While Lorenzo closed the gap mid corner on the faster flowing bits.

This seemed Lorenzo's undoing thought with his front tyre giving way. So is the Yamaha that much better mid corner or was Stoner ensuring he had front tyre left at the end...

After watching WSBK in assen this was like a parade the passing was at a minimum. From a racing stand point I would rather watch 5 or 6 riders fighting for a win rather than the top 3 or 4 running a way and parading around the circuit.

@phil arm
Blame this on the camera work from each track or race, as there are many battles going on behind the front line,in and amongst the mid line and back markers. This is a pet hate of certain fans. But the point is no matter what we the non motogp riders have to say, we are not there doing what these guys are doing or making the nano-second based decisions they are making on the track. They are Aliens. They are all far above and beyond the talents of 'we' the normal people. End of story.

It makes me laugh. All of the fans that associate Rossi haters with being Australian. Mayber they're all English. It makes me laugh that Casey is great friends with Cal and Chaz Davies. Colin and Ben too.
Wonder how many friends the rider has?

@Dacron "staight line speed is whatever the rider feels confident enough to use".

Are you for real they ring the neck out of those bikes on the straight, they are the best in the world with plenty of confidence I reckon.

Great jpb by Casey. He had probably written himself off for a podium candidate at best. Mind you,he said that himself !!! HA HA.
Anyway, on the day there was very little to pick between HRC/Casey and Yam/George.
I'd like to see the tale of the Brembo tape. With the arm pump and the high g's at Jerez under braking,Stoner rode his boots off to claim a well deserved and unforgetable victory.
Is there any circuit on the current calender he needs to scalp other than Estoril ?.
