“I was too cautious in the beginning. I saw the Moto2 and Moto3 races and [there were] many crashes on the wet patches” – Dani Pedrosa.

I really hope Dani can throw off the injury jinx this year and continue to ride without handicap. He's a great rider (if a touch behind his main competitors right now) and it would be nice to finally get a true picture of how he stacks up against the opposition over a season.

I'll buy that about the wet patches and earlier crashes. When you're leading as he was he would have no indication of how slick it was until he went down. He got too far behind to challenge for the win but was coming on pretty fast. He'll be in the hunt all year. The three top riders are ridiculously fast, talented, and fearless.

He bottled it a bit in the first few laps true, but better than binning it.

Remember his massive crash at the Sachenring when he just went mental and was lapping like 3 secs faster than everyone else?

Quite disappointed with Dani's effort- as I said earlier in the week, if he carried the confidence he had from the initial thursday press release and then his strong performance in the conditions both Friday and Saturday he would have been on that top step.

It is a plus that he has come away from this race unscathed and picked up vital points, but I can't help to feel this was a missed opportunity for the mighty fella.

Sooner or later it's all going to come together for Pedrosa. He'll jump out of the gate first as usual and then keep motoring on with Casey and Jorge and the rest in hot pursuit. But it's blinding speed and consitency that wins championships and he has yet to manage the consitentcy part.
