in sport, we dont lost the spirit to figth for the win even when we grow older, its our ability to win loses, thats why great champions loses as they grow old, but their spirit to figth for the is still there, like shumarcher,he still hope maybe he can win but his ability can not do it anymore. even boxer, basketball player, as they grow older they still think they can compete, but their physical just cant do it.

The most important part of this interview has been left out, Rossi also said(as quoted in GP Week Issue 151):

"I used to like that the bike pitches a lot, with a lot of weight transfer when you brake and accelerate. This bike doesn't work that way... it needs to be low, long and more flat. (It's)... a Ducati setting."

Those who follow closely will remember the 80 second quote from Burgess (when talking about satellite riders, and NOT Stoner), where his idea was to raise the COG by lifting the bike 2 inches, to get exactly what Valentino rides with, a lot of fore and aft pitch. Turns out that is where they went wrong.

This may actually be the start of something worthwhile, maybe the penny has dropped and Vale will start to push again, I certainly hope so.

@ all the idiots that think rossi gave barbera the finger , it wasnt that he shook his hands !!! and btw you have to hit rock bottom before you can go back up , and u cant stay on top forever , as what goes up must come down and vice versa , so rossi will return to "competetive form" this yr i think and then we'll have some real racing , btw does anyone know what wrong with spies , coz if vale was on that bike he would of got a podium ,they should swap perhaps next season????

realfan re Stoner on best bike if that was true then why was the 2nd bike not the same as his you can,t see real talent when it is in front of you. And im not a rossi fan or hater he is one of the best i just don,t think he can adapt to the duc is all . Put him on a yam or honda and he would surely be up there .Would he beat stoner and jorge i don,t know but suspect he might get jorge sometimes but i think stoner is at the top of his game at the moment Just my opinion

Ducati is not and will not be competitive this year. It takes Years of development to balance a race bike to be in the top 3, at this time Yamaha and Honda have the right balance(it's obvious), anyone seeking a championship tittle knows where they have to go and what they have to do.

Surely Jeromy and the rest of the team must know what fork angles, spring rates'wheelbase etc works!!I dont understand why they did not go the route of using what works. Personally even if Rossi has lost the edge it would still put him on par with the rest, so there are huge question marks with this Ducrapaudi!!!
